KARACHI: On Tuesday morning, a major fire at a three-story facility in the industrial region of New Karachi injured at least eight firefighters.
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s (KMC) Chief Fire Officer, Muhammad Humayun, stated that the facility collapsed due to a loud explosion that started the fire.
Rescue efforts were launched right away as a result of the explosion’s broad disruption.
The fall of the structure was disastrous, he said, and he was concerned about the extent of the devastation.
According to the officer, rescue operations were further hindered by the powerful fire that started prior to the explosion, which made it difficult for emergency personnel to reach the scene.
Authorities are working to find any stranded personnel as soon as possible while they continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.
