The actress, who has married seven different men, is the focus of a new HBO documentary called “Elizabeth Taylor: The Lost Tapes.” The video describes the Oscar winner’s life and loves in her own words, based on a recently found series of honest interviews.
Taylor said in the documentary how her love affair with “Cleopatra” co-star Richard Burton prompted the Vatican to launch a scathing attack.
Elizabeth Taylor claimed Husband Number Four. EDDIE FISHER POINTED A GUN AT HER HEAD: ‘TOO PRETTY TO SHOOT’.
The Vatican publication had published an article suggesting that I was such a horrible lady that my own children should be taken away from me.
[It’s] an attack that literally made me puke,” she remarked.
Taylor fell in love with Burton while still married to her fourth husband, pop star Eddie Fisher. The tabloids revealed their on-set affair in 1962, shortly after Fisher split from his wife Debbie Reynolds to marry Taylor. Burton was then married to his first wife, Sybil Williams.
