GUWAHATI: In their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 match at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, England defeated Bangladesh by a hard-fought four wickets thanks to Heather Knight’s 79-run effort.
The former champions had to work hard to win the match after chasing a modest 179-run mark. They reached the total with 23 balls remaining, losing six wickets in the process.
Knight led England’s chase with a heroic effort, walking out to bat at the beginning of the second over with the scoreboard showing 1/6.
She formed important partnerships with Alice Capsey (20) and captain Nat Sciver-Brunt (32) but England was still down to 103/6 after the all-rounder was dismissed in the 30th over.
