ISLAMABAD: In response to extensive flooding and landslides that have severely damaged people’s livelihoods and vital infrastructure throughout Pakistan, the European Union (EU) is sending €700,000 in humanitarian relief to the nation.
According to a press statement released on Thursday, the assistance will help meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable groups in some of the hardest-hit districts, including in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Sindh.
“The EU expresses heartfelt condolences to Pakistan for the lives lost in the exceptionally heavy monsoon rains, which have once again put the resilience of communities across the country to the test,” stated Taheeni Thammannagoda, who is in charge of the EU’s humanitarian programs in Pakistan.
