Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar stated on Tuesday that former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad, who was arrested by Israeli forces during the interception of the Gaza aid flotilla, has been freed and is securely in the custody of the Pakistani embassy in Amman.
Earlier this month, Israeli authorities halted the Global Sumud Flotilla, which was transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza, and Mushtaq Ahmad was one of numerous people arrested.
The 45-ship flotilla, which was carrying political leaders and activists, left Spain last month with the intention of lifting Israel’s blockade of Gaza, where the UN has issued a famine warning.
