This summer, Alec Baldwin is scheduled to appear in court on a charge of involuntary manslaughter related to the accidental shooting murder of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.
A New Mexico jury found 26-year-old “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed guilty of involuntary manslaughter on Wednesday, finding her to be the owner of the gun that fired a live bullet on the Western movie set. On October 21, 2021, Baldwin took the revolver out of his holster while Hutchins was under fire.
The ruling in Gutierrez-Reed’s case might portend future developments for Baldwin, who faces two charges related to Hutchins’ demise. On January 31, 2023, Baldwin was first charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter; however, the accusations were later dismissed in April of the same year.
