KARACHI: Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, the Sindh Home Minister, stated on Friday that extortion in Karachi is a severe problem and that no one will be permitted to harass vendors or interfere with commercial operations in the city.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Lanjar stated that the government wanted commerce to prosper and that certain traders had been threatened for not paying extortion money.
He declared, “We will not allow anyone to intimidate citizens or businessmen.”
The minister disclosed that three extortion suspects were arrested in an injured state during current operations, and four others were slain in police clashes.
