ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) declared on Tuesday that all eligible taxpayers must file their income tax returns by midnight tomorrow, ruling out an extension for the 2025 tax year.
The filing window officially shuts at 12 a.m., and individuals who do not comply would be considered late filers under the law, the FBR stated in a statement.
The authority made it clear that non-filers would be subject to sanctions in line with current laws.
The tax authority emphasized that the recently introduced streamlined income tax return form makes it easy for taxpayers to file their taxes. It did, however, issue a warning that there would be legal repercussions for any returns submitted after the deadline.
Eligible taxpayers were instructed by FBR to make sure they submitted before tonight’s deadline.
