LAHORE: According to sources who spoke with Geo News on Thursday, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken prominent political analyst Orya Maqbool Jan into custody from his home in Phase Six of the Defence Housing Authority in Lahore.
According to the reports, the analyst was detained by the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing on charges of inciting hostility towards religion.
A case has been filed in the interim under the Cyber Terrorism Act over purported remarks made against educational institutions.
Noteworthy is the fact that Jan, a political commentator on current affairs who is active on social media, has 1.05 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and 1.3 million followers on his X account.
