Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), gave the Sikh community assurances on Friday that all holy places, including Durbar Shaib Kartarpur, which were damaged during the present catastrophic floods, will be fully restored.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army commander made these statements while reviewing the ongoing relief efforts and plans for the next monsoon rains in the Sialkot sector, which includes Shakargarh, Narowal, and Kartarpur.
More than 800 people have been killed since late June as a result of Pakistan’s intense monsoon rains, which have flooded dams, swollen rivers, and caused flash floods. India released more water from its dams this week due to the heavy rains, which caused the river flows in Punjab to rise downstream.
