In 2012, only Boys Aloud made it to the TV talent contest final.
Over 6,500 boys have benefited from the charity-run choir’s help since its founding in 2010.
The Only Boys Aloud choir and the Aloud charity are in danger of closing, therefore they are asking for donations of £150,000 to keep going.
Currently, Only Boys Aloud comprises around 150 boys who attend 11 choirs throughout Wales.
Callum Scott Howells, who later starred in the TV series It’s A Sin and The Way, is one of the former members.
Retired member turned West End celebrity Tom Hier, who has been in Miss Saigon, Joseph, and Footloose among other productions, claimed many people were unaware that Only Boys Aloud was a nonprofit organization.
“When Only Boys Aloud first came out, I joined. “Only Boys Aloud is so much more to me than just a choir,” the man remarked.
“Honestly, I don’t think I’d be doing what I do today if it wasn’t for the confidence and skills I gained in Only Boys Aloud.”
Aloud’s CEO, Carys Wynne-Morgan, stated that the organization was having difficulties “like so many other arts charities”.
