ISLAMABAD: According to Federal Minister of Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, the government has chosen to eliminate 150,000 unfilled positions, disband one ministry, and combine two more.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad on Sunday, he said that the rightsizing committee had chosen to eliminate 60% of the open seats with the permission of the federal cabinet, which would help save costs.
The finance czar declared that the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) ministry would be dissolved, putting an end to the rumors regarding the ministry’s name.
On September 1, a government representative informed Geo News that numerous senior officials will be targeted for elimination.
In its initial phase, the rightsizing committee has examined six ministries thus far.
