The British royal family has released its first social media message since Princess of Wales Kate Middleton made her first public appearance following stomach surgery.
The palace published images of the Duke of Kent from the RNLI’s 200th anniversary Thanksgiving Service.
The post reads: “The Duke of Kent attended a special Thanksgiving Service at Westminster Abbey as the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) commemorates 200 years of rescuing lives at sea.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) was established in 1824 and has since saved approximately 150,000 lives.
From responding to crisis calls from paddleboarders and wild swimmers to carrying out sophisticated rescues of small boat crews, the RNLI has continuously adapted to meet the demands of individuals at sea.
It went on to say, “Today at Westminster Abbey, representatives from RNLI lifesaving communities, along with the display of historic and modern lifeboats, attended a Service of Thanksgiving with the Archbishop of Canterbury and The Duke of Kent leading the celebrations.”
