The sixth day of the conflict with India in September 1965 saw the martyrdom of five Pakistani officers. Captain Islam Ahmad Khan, Major Muhammad Munir Khan, Major Muhammad Sarwar, Major Fakhar Alam Khan, and Captain Khalid Hamid Lodhi were among the officers.
In occupied Kashmir, Captain Islam Ahmad Khan lost his life while valiantly defending Devi Pur, close to Akhnoor. Before his tank was destroyed, Major Fakhar Alam Khan managed to seize 14 enemy artillery batteries. Deep inside enemy territory, Major Muhammad Munir Khan fought his way forward until being killed by an anti-tank rifle burst near Najalay Chak.
Major Muhammad Sarwar was struck by a bullet and his tank caught fire as he approached Akhnoor. After winning battles in Jaurian, Captain Khalid Hamid Lodhi was heading towards Akhnoor when he was hit by enemy fire.
