The flood has now spread into Sindh after inflicting havoc in South Punjab, causing the Indus River’s water levels to rise and raising concerns about more destruction in low-lying districts.
The water level of the Indus River has started to increase quickly at Naushahro Feroze. 502,844 cusecs of inflow and 492,433 cusecs of outflow were recorded at Guddu Barrage.
With 404,405 cusecs upstream and 382,000 cusecs downstream, Sukkur Barrage is also experiencing a surge that is classified as a low-level flood.
While Head Panjnad recorded an abnormally high flood with levels above 475,000 cusecs, Kotri Barrage recorded inflows of 253,145 cusecs.
