ISLAMABAD: Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, spokesman for the Foreign Office (FO), has stated that Pakistan alone has the power to determine who is allowed to remain in the nation, emphasizing that those without documentation will be sent back to their home countries.
“Those without documentation ought to depart. At a weekly press conference on Friday, the FO spokesperson stated, “This is what Pakistan is doing and what any other country will be doing, including in Europe and other countries… it is our territory, we decide who stays in.”
Despite a weekend earthquake that destroyed entire towns in Afghanistan and killed 2,200 people, thousands of Afghans who were registered as refugees have flooded over the border from Pakistan in recent days, and returns are increasing.
