Romanian prosecutors have asked that Tate remain in custody for an additional thirty days, although the country’s authorities have eased the limitations on his brother Tristan.
Tate and Tristan were two of the six individuals detained in connection with a probe into human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
This week, the contentious influencer’s house was searched in response to fresh accusations leveled against him.
On Wednesday, four properties in Bucharest and the neighboring county of Ilfov were searched by Romania’s anti-organized crime agency DIICOT due to accusations of money laundering, influencing statements, sexual relations with minors, trafficking in persons, and human trafficking.
It’s unclear at this time who of the six accused is subject to each specific charge.
Tate’s expansive home on the outskirts of Bucharest was searched by dozens of police officers and forensic experts, and the brothers of the former professional kickboxer were shown on camera going with the police out of the residence.
A spokesman for Tate, Mateea Petrescu, stated yesterday that his legal team was there and that “although the charges in the search warrant are not yet fully clarified, they include suspicions of human trafficking and money laundering” in reaction to the raids.
Ms. Petrescu remained silent regarding the claims made about kids.
