Will Smith is finally ready to return to the acting profession following his historic Oscar slap scandal.
According to Variety, the 55-year-old actor will play the lead role in Sugar Bandits, an action thriller inspired on Chuck Hogan’s 2010 book Devils in Exile.
He will play the role of Neal Maven, an Iraq War veteran who forms an alliance with other military veterans to bring down the Boston drug trade.
Chuck, who has written films such as 13 Hours and The Town, will write the screenplay.
Will’s first high-profile part since his 2022 film Emancipation, which he co-directed with Antoine Fuqua, comes after he slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards earlier that year.
