When a safety car was deployed at almost half distance when others had already stopped, Norris was able to make his pit stop and leapt to the lead.
With 27 circuits remaining, the race resumed, and Verstappen was unable to keep up with Norris. The Briton pulled ahead of the world champion, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc had to settle for second place.
“About time, huh?” Following his 110th Grand Prix victory, 24 year old Norris stated.
It’s been a fantastic weekend overall. There have been a few obstacles in my path. I was aware that on Friday we were moving at the right speed with only a few missteps here and there, but today we were able to bring everything together, implement the ideal plan, and it all paid off.
