In 1999, another officer told Stephen Otter that the Met Police had a “special relationship” with the upscale department store, “which benefits both us and them.”
He said on News that in exchange for “hampers being provided” and “officers having lots of drinks paid for,” the force will “provide additional resources at Christmas.”
It coincides with allegations made by five former employees of the upscale retail shop that Fayed sexually assaulted them.
Furthermore, over a hundred women have come forward to testify before lawyers or to report that they were raped. The police are requesting it.
In 1999, Fayed sponsored an Austin Mini Metro for the Met Police that had the Harrods emblem on it when Mr. Otter was appointed borough commander for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
It “looked more like a Harrods vehicle than a police vehicle,” according to Mr. Otter. A Harrods car appeared to have a blue light installed on it.
He said that a security supervisor at Harrods shoved back the keys and stated, “Look, you don’t understand, this is an arrangement that’s been going on for a long time,” when he sought to return the automobile.
