This January, Paris will host the French Menswear 2026 season, featuring 35 live runway shows, including two first-time Paris debuts, alongside at least 32 presentations. Balenciaga will make a notable return, adding excitement to a jam-packed calendar.
Key Paris Debuts and Rising Designers
The season will introduce Paris shows from two emerging labels: Jeanne Friot and Magliano, according to the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM).
Jeanne Friot, founded in 2020, is a Paris-based, gender-neutral label. Friot trained at the Duperré School and Institut Français de la Mode and gained experience at several fashion houses, including Balenciaga. Her show will open the season on Tuesday morning, leading into Pharrell Williams’ fifth Louis Vuitton runway later that day.
Luca Magliano, from Bologna, first rose to fame at the 2017 Who Is On Next? menswear awards. He won the Karl Lagerfeld award at the 2023 LVMH Prize and staged a striking, gender-fluid show in Florence last January as Pitti’s guest designer.
Season Highlights
The season’s most anticipated shows include Grace Wales Bonner’s debut at Hermès, Jacquemus’ return, and Jonathan Anderson’s second menswear collection for Dior. Hermès’ show, scheduled for Saturday evening, marks the succession of Veronique Nichanian after over thirty years at the house. Jacquemus will close the season on Sunday night, while Anderson’s Dior Homme show will take place Tuesday afternoon, followed by Alexandre Mattiussi for Ami.
Balenciaga Returns with a New Format
Balenciaga, which had mostly shown menswear in co-ed presentations under Demna, will unveil a new format under Pierpaolo Piccioli. The collection will go online on January 15 before a physical debut on January 20 at the Paris headquarters.
Additional Shows and Notable Names
Paris will also welcome established creatives like Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Junya Watanabe, and Rick Owens, alongside contemporary labels such as Willy Chavarria, Kidsuper, Sacai, 3. Paradis, and Kolor.
Some brands, including Loewe, will skip the January menswear season in favor of co-ed shows during the March womenswear calendar. Four new arrivals—ERL, Kml, Sonia Carrasco, and ssstein—will hold presentations, while Charles Jeffery Loverboy, Maison Kitsuné, and Post Archive Faction return after short breaks.
Sphere Program for Emerging Talent
The FHCM’s Sphere program will showcase young talent from January 21 to 25 at the Palais de Tokyo. New participants include Gardouch and Rkivecity, alongside five established labels: Cachí, C.R.E.O.L.E, La Cage, Lazoschmidl, and Ouest Paris.
