ISLAMABAD: Following allegations made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders that they had lost contact with Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, due to an incursion at the KP House, the federal government clarified on Sunday that Gandapur was not under the control of any federal agency.
The provincial executive has been cut off from communication since last night, and the federal authorities stated that Gandapur has been living in self-imposed hiding since yesterday.
As the PTI continues its demonstration in Islamabad, the sudden “disappearance” of firebrand politician and KP chief executive has sparked numerous questions in addition to rumors of his imprisonment.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi acknowledged that law enforcement agents did carry out surveillance while speaking to the media in Islamabad at a press conference alongside KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
