ISLAMABAD: Ali Amin Gandapur’s resignation as chief minister serves as a sobering reminder of how dangerous it is for even a prominent PTI politician to find himself at odds with the two women who are closest to the party founder, who is currently incarcerated: his sister Aleema Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.
Following Imran Khan’s unequivocal declaration from prison that his time was over, Gandapur announced his resignation as chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
After a brutal power battle with Aleema Khan and an unresolved animosity with Bushra Bibi, the once-ferocious PTI stalwart had little political ground left to stand on.
Since last year, tensions had been building between Bushra Bibi and Gandapur.
