After hitting its greatest price in history, the price of gold began to fall in Pakistan and around the world.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reports that the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs2,000 a tola on Thursday, to Rs396,800. In a same vein, 10 grams of gold now cost Rs340,192 after falling Rs1,714.
There was also a shift in the world gold market, as the price of gold fell by $20 per ounce to $3,750.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s silver prices showed the opposite trend, with 10g of 24-karat silver selling for Rs3,997 and a tola of 24-karat silver rising by Rs26 to Rs4,663.
