Despite a decline in global gold prices, Pakistani gold prices increased on Friday and hit a new high.
The price of gold per tola, or unit of weight, went up by Rs200 on the local Pakistani market and settled at Rs262,000.
In a similar vein, 10 grams of gold now sell for Rs224,623, up Rs172 from the previous price. Following a gain of Rs. 800 the day before, gold prices closed at Rs. 261,800 on Thursday.
On the other hand, the price of gold internationally fell on Friday, falling $12 to $2,492 per ounce (plus a $20 premium).
