A day after experiencing a sharp drop, the price of gold increased significantly both in Pakistan and internationally, nearly hitting a record high.
The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association reports that 24-karat gold prices rose by Rs2,500 per tola on Friday, raising the total to Rs386,500. Likewise, the cost of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs2,143, reaching Rs331,361.
The price of gold per ounce increased by $27 to $3,645, indicating a shift in the global gold market as well.
Similar trends were observed in the price of silver in Pakistan, where a tola of 24-karat silver increased by Rs130 to reach Rs4,456, while 10g of 24-karat silver is currently trading for Rs3,820.
