ISLAMABAD: In response to the state’s request to enhance security, the federal government on Sunday approved the deployment of Frontier Constabulary (FC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Following their meeting in Islamabad, AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement.
The two discussed the AJK government’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year, the current political climate, and the state of law and order during the meeting.

According to the sources, the FC will offer reliable security for the hydropower projects in Neelum-Jhelum, Mangla, and Gulpur in addition to supporting the AJK police.
According to the sources, up to six FC platoons will be stationed in the AJK for a three-month duration.
Speaking at the event, Naqvi gave the AJK PM the assurance that every effort would be made to maintain harmony and enhance the region’s security.
