An inquiry committee has been established to look into the attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Information Secretary Raoof Hasan, according to Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar’s announcement on Wednesday.
A police investigation team has also been assigned, and a first information report (FIR) regarding the occurrence has been filed with charges of attempted and murderous killing.
The senior politician’s attack was described as “regrettable and sad” by the law minister, who added that such attacks ought to be prevented.
“The attack on Raoof Hasan is being looked into seriously by the government,” Tarar declared during today’s Senate meeting.
Earlier this week, a group of about four individuals—apparently transgender people—attacked and hurt the PTI spokesperson in Islamabad, prompting harsh criticism from his party.
