Fans of Grey’s Anatomy got an emotional ride in the January 8 midseason premiere, finally learning what happened to Dr. Jo Wilson and her twins after an emergency C-section.
At the end of the season 22 fall finale, Jo’s condition was uncertain, leaving viewers anxious. In the new episode, we see that Jo is alive but still in a coma on a ventilator. Her twin daughters, Baby A and Baby B, are also in critical condition, keeping the tension high.
Her husband, Dr. Atticus “Link” Lincoln, struggles with the situation. He visits the hospital chapel, a familiar Grey’s Anatomy spot for moments of hope and reflection. Dr. Richard Webber comforts him, reminding Link that leaning on friends and family can bring peace during difficult times.
Hope comes later when Link visits the NICU. Speaking to his daughters about their older siblings, Luna and Scout, one of the twins manages to pee on her own, a small but significant sign of progress.
Back in Jo’s room, Dr. Ben Warren tells Link that Jo is showing signs of recovery. Link sits beside her, describing the twins’ features, which causes her eyes to flutter. By the end of the episode, Jo opens her eyes fully, giving fans a hopeful glimpse of the family’s future.
