KARACHI: After beginning to sink into the ground and developing significant cracks in its walls and floors, a ground-plus-four residential structure in Block 10 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar has been deemed unsafe.
On Tuesday, officials from the local government, police, rescue teams, and Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) hurried to the scene and started evacuating the inhabitants.
Blocks C and D are impacted, according to authorities, and the complex, known as Yasir Terrace, consists of three buildings. There are about 300 people living in about 60 apartments spread throughout both buildings. Authorities began evacuating people and their possessions as the ground floor of one of the buildings sank, shattering windows and balconies.
