According to Halsey, she is not yet permitted to release a new album.
In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music on September 18, the pop artist revealed the information, citing her 2024 release, The Great Impersonator, as the cause.
“At this time, I am unable to produce an album. I’m not permitted to. It’s the truth,” the singer, 30, disclosed.
According to Halsey, the album “didn’t perform the way they wanted it to” when it first came out at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
“The album sold 100,000 f copies in its first week, if I’m telling the truth. For an artist who hasn’t had a hit in a long time, that is a significant first week.
