Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Hamas’s reaction to the peace proposal for Gaza, which Trump mediated, saying on Saturday that the Palestinian organization’s statement offered a possible way to a truce and urged the international community to take advantage of the chance to put an end to the conflict.
The prime minister stated that diplomatic advancements must now be translated into aid for the Gaza population in a post on X, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to promoting long-term peace and stability in Palestine.
The remark follows Hamas’ announcement that it has agreed to some aspects of the US president’s plan to secure the release of all remaining captives from the October 7, 2023 attack and put an end to the nearly two-year conflict.
