Following a trial, Santa Fe, New Mexico jury found 26-year-old Hannah Gutierrez guilty of involuntary manslaughter. Gutierrez was sentenced today.
When actor and co-producer Alec Baldwin’s Colt 45 revolver exploded during a rehearsal for the western picture in October 2021, she was in control of the firearms during that time.
Director Joel Souza was hurt, and cinematographer Halyna Hutchins passed away as a result of the tragedy.
Following a two-week trial in which they heard testimony from numerous witnesses, including eyewitnesses, FBI evidence analyzers, and Rust’s ammo supplier, the jury in Gutierrez’s case returned a guilty judgment.
During Gutierrez’s sentencing, a statement from Ms. Hutchins’ mother, Olga Solovey, was read aloud to the court.
