The first trailer for Lionsgate’s World War II picture The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, starring Henry Cavill and Alan Ritchson, has been released.
Based on actual events involving late British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and James Bond creator Ian Fleming’s covert WWII combat group that subsequently gave rise to the contemporary Black Ops unit, Guy Ritchie’s next action comedy is set to hit theaters this summer.
Henry Cavill, who plays The Witcher, is shown in the teaser putting together a group of cadets undercover tasked with fighting Nazis. You won’t like them, Cavill’s character warns Cary Elwes’ character. All of them are evil. Cavill was happy to fire shots as the agents set out to kill as many Nazis as they could.
“This clandestine squad’s unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against the Nazis significantly changed the course of the war and gave birth to the modern Black Ops unit,” according to the official synopsis for the movie.
The movie, which opens in theaters on April 16, also features Alex Pettyfer, Henry Golding, Eiza González, and other notable actors.
The same-titled book by military historian Damien Lewis served as the inspiration for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
