Hezbollah, a group supported by Iran in Lebanon, claimed responsibility for firing scores of missiles at military locations in northern Israel on Wednesday in retaliation for the death of a member whom Israel claimed to be a field commander.
Hezbollah forces targeted a barrack with “heavy rockets” and attacked “the Meron base with dozens of Katyusha rockets, heavy rockets, and artillery shells” on Wednesday, according to the group.
The statement stated that the bombings were “part of the response to the assassination carried out by the Israeli enemy in the south” the day before.
The Israeli army said that sirens went off in Meron on Wednesday, but it did not elaborate.
