ISLAMABAD: After K-Electric’s proposal to collect additional costs in the aforementioned months was approved by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), Karachi residents who use power will see higher bills in October and November.
KE has asked the electricity regulatory authority to sanction the collection of additional Rs2.5934 per unit in October and Rs3.1688 per unit in November, according to a news article published in The News on Thursday.
The monthly gasoline charges for May and June of 2024 have been adjusted, resulting in this increase. The aggregate effect of these modifications is Rs5.763 per unit, meaning that customers will bear an extra weight of around Rs10.6 billion.
Including the general sales tax (GST), the entire expenditure would come to about Rs 12.5 billion.
