David Del Rio, who portrayed Billy Martinez in the CBS Matlock revival, was let off on October 9, 2025, after co-star Leah Lewis accused him of sexual abuse, according to Deadline.
The alleged event happened on September 26, 2025, while filming the second season of the show at Lewis’ trailer on the Paramount property.
After Lewis reported the situation on October 2, CBS Studios performed a swift investigation, validating her claim, and immediately took Del Rio off set.
Although he makes an appearance in the first half of the season, which premieres on October 12, his character will be written out of subsequent episodes.
Neither Del Rio nor Lewis nor CBS have provided any additional information regarding the incident.
