The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has approved a new resolution demanding that Iran immediately allow full access and provide all necessary information regarding its nuclear activities, in line with UN Security Council requirements.
The move follows renewed tensions after Israel and the United States launched strikes on key Iranian nuclear sites during a 12-day conflict in June. Since then, Iran has blocked inspectors from entering major facilities such as Fordo and Natanz—both damaged in the attacks—though access to other locations has continued.
The resolution, passed by a vote of 19 in favor, 3 against, and 12 abstaining, urges Tehran to cooperate “fully and without delay.” IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stressed that visiting the attacked sites is essential to verifying Iran’s compliance, expressing hope that progress can be made soon.
