After the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially complained about Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav’s comments during and after the high-profile India-Pakistan match earlier this month, the ICC banned him from making any political statements.
Yadav reportedly met with ICC representatives on Thursday at the organization’s headquarters in Dubai. The action was taken in response to a formal letter from the PCB criticizing his remarks, which included claiming that India’s triumph was dedicated to the military forces and the victims of the Pahalgam assault.
With the emphasis that “no political statements of any kind will be made on the ground going forward,” the ICC responded by issuing a directive that forbade Yadav from making any more political remarks.
