As Rhian Wilkinson’s team plays Croatia and Kosovo in their first qualifiers this month, Fishlock, 37, is attempting to reach 150 caps.
It’s possible that the Seattle Reign midfielder’s tenure as a Wales player is drawing to a close.
“I am 37 now and probably this is going to be my last campaign,” she stated.
Following Wales’ elimination from World Cup qualifying following a play-off loss to Switzerland in October 2022, Fishlock contemplated retiring.
“I actually considered giving up after the Switzerland game, but it was incredibly difficult. When we were all together, I sought to be the squad’s strong side.
I went home, and as soon as I was with my family, my feelings ran wild and I started crying in front of my mother.’I can’t do it anymore, I can’t go through this again,’ I told her. ‘That’s OK,’ my mother said.I thought she would urge me to keep going at that point, but instead she gave me precisely what I needed.
