The situation in Gaza and the larger Middle East was the main topic of US President Donald Trump’s meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other leaders of Muslim-majority countries during the UN General Assembly.
Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan were among the participants.
“You all have done an excellent job, which is commendable,” Trump said during the 50-minute conversation, praising their efforts and calling it an honor to meet Islamic leaders.
The Turkish president said the discussions were quite fruitful.
