In Peshawar on Wednesday, the fifth case of mpox in Pakistan was confirmed. On September 7, the 33-year-old patient touched down in Pakistan at Islamabad International Airport after traveling from a Gulf nation.
The fourth confirmed case of mpox in Pakistan was reported from Peshawar on September 1. The Peshawar airport was the site of the virus’s initial three cases.
After testing negative for the zoonotic illness, all four of the KP patients were released from isolation on Sunday, September 8.
