North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Chinese President Xi Jinping met Thursday in Beijing, according to China’s official broadcaster CCTV.
At a routine briefing earlier in the day, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun had informed reporters that the meeting would “hold significant importance” and will discuss bilateral ties and matters of mutual concern.
Guo stated that China is prepared to promote the respective socialist causes and the long-standing friendly cooperative relations between China and the DPRK, expand the sharing of governance experience, and improve strategic communication, exchanges, and collaboration with the DPRK.
