Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the first online series by acclaimed Indian director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is now available on Netflix.
Bhansali talked about his idea for the high-end production during its premiere in Los Angeles. He disclosed that his initial idea was to turn the show into a movie starring Rani Mukerji, Kareena Kapoor, and Rekha. The director stated that he had been working on the idea for Heeramandi for eighteen years, but the plot was too large for the movie to ever happen.
