The footage was taken on Saturday after Everton’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham, and it shows supporters yelling and cursing at many players as they pass by.
In response to the video on X, Maupay—who did not see any action during his time as a substitute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium—wrote: “Consider another job where it’s normalized to get abuse like this.”
“Hanging around at a train station to scream at men who are trying their best.”
A few spectators can be seen giving athletes high fives in the video.
After losing 3-0 to Brighton on the first day of play and then losing in north London on Saturday, Everton is currently at the bottom of the Premier League.
They have lost their opening two games of the season by three goals or more for the first time in the club’s history.
The 28-year-old Maupay paid £15 million to move from Brighton to Everton in the summer of 2022, but in 32 appearances in all competitions, he has only managed one goal.
The Frenchman scored eight goals in 31 appearances while on loan at Brentford during the previous season.
Earlier this month, the Toffees turned down a loan deal for Maupay from Marseille.
