Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has appeared before the Islamabad High Court in a matter involving the non-recovery of Baloch students.
The hearing in the case of Baloch students’ non-recovery has begun in the Islamabad High Court, presided over by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani. The caretaker premier arrived in court today, after missing the previous two hearings despite being called by the court.
During the previous hearing, the Islamabad High Court ordered the caretaker prime minister, ministers, and secretaries to appear, and a three-member committee comprised of intelligence institutions was constituted to find the missing Baloch students.
Apart from the caretaker prime minister, the interior secretary, and caretaker federal interior minister Gohar Ijaz have also appeared in the high court.
The hearing
At the start of the hearing, Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Awan told the court that four pupils had yet to be discovered and could not be found; however, the students’ lawyer, Advocate Imaan Mazari, stated that according to her information, the number was nine.
Justice Kayani stated that the court was exclusively looking into the case involving Baloch students. It has been stated that some pupils have joined the TTP, while others have returned home and cannot be located. As the case continued, some individuals returned. “The institutions are not above the law,” he said.
