PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi was cleared by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Tuesday, while Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, and other defendants were given 10-year prison sentences in connection with the May 9 riots that resulted in bloodshed at Rahat Bakery Chowk.
On May 9, 2023, ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul rendered a decision in the case of a Supreme Court judge’s car burning at Rahat Bakery Chowk. Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore served as the venue for the hearing.
In a similar vein, PTI leaders Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed each received ten years in prison.
