KARACHI: Four individuals convicted of the murder of former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) politician Ali Raza Abidi were given life sentences by a Karachi anti-terrorism court.
Along with declaring the case’s outcome, the court fined the four guilty parties Rs 100,000.
In 2018, the lawmaker was shot several times outside his Defence Housing Authority home in the Khayaban-e-Ghazi neighborhood before being killed by unidentified assailants.
Abidi was sent to PNS Shifa Hospital right away and was declared critically ill; nevertheless, he passed away there from his wounds.
The initial post-mortem report said that the dead MNA had four bullets in his neck, arm, and chest.
In the general elections of 2013, Abidi was chosen as an MNA on the MQM ticket.
