He was dealt to the Red Sox the next day, and on Monday when play began, he made his debut for his new team.

In the past, MLB has seen new additions in the middle of banned games, but there has never been a situation when a player played against his former team.
Surprisingly, Jansen was the Blue Jays’ batter at the plate when play was suspended two months ago.
This meant that Jansen, now wearing a Red Sox uniform instead of a Toronto one, was the host team’s catcher at Boston’s Fenway Park, forcing his old team to field pinch hitter Daulton Varsho in his place.
Jansen was in both teams’ starting lineups and box scores as the Blue Jays prevailed 4-1.
