RAWALPINDI: As the country continues its struggle against terrorism, security forces killed a soldier and nine terrorists in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
According to a statement from the military’s media affairs branch, security personnel carried out an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Tank District. During the IBO, two terrorists were killed, including a high-value target (HVT) named Rehmat Ullah alias Badar Mansur.
“In another operation conducted in South Waziristan District, after intense fire exchange, seven terrorists were sent to hell.”
The ISPR further stated that guns, ammo, and explosives were retrieved from the slain terrorists.
The dead militants continued to actively participate in several terrorist acts in the area against the security forces as well as extortion and target killing of innocent civilians, it added.
However, during the operation, Sepoy Shahzeb Aslam, 29, who battled valiantly, chose martyrdom.
“The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” a statement from the ISPR said.
